The Brewery Project was an arts collective that marked the rich history of Kilkenny’s Smithwick’s brewery through the making of a site specific theatre production (The Last Brewer) and a documentary (Scent of Barley) The artistic expression was informed by the stories and memories of past workers. The documentary was first screened in August 2015 and the site specific production was performed in September 2015. This project was realised with the support of ArtLinks, Diageo and Kilkenny County Arts Office.
